i don't think he was making things worse, really? idk he wasn't MY god so it's not like i grew up knowing what it was like under his rule, if you could call it that. technically he was only supposed to come down to talk to the mortals once a year but that wasn't happening. he was living as a fake mortal for a while. then he faked his own death and all.

i mean i was kind of there to steal an aspect of his divinity from him but like that's different.
if its anything like where i came from the answer is yes only maybe it wont look the way people hope it will cuz u know what u get? a big vacancy somebodys gotta fill probably gonna be somebody strong enough to handle the job and keep everybody else in line chances are whoever that is aint gonna mind stepping on people on the way up more people than woulda gotten stepped on than usual under the useless god human nature

maybe it was easier to just step down peacefully and hand the rights of the country over to humans and let them sort things out on their own? even though it's thrown the entire country into unrest and people are bound to start getting opportunistic. especially considering everything else that happened because of retiring. i mean he kind of fucked over things like mora production too, you know? it seems like there was just no real thought for what would happen AFTER relinquishing control. which was very like him, i guess.
